Welcome to 8th grade, Language Arts!
We are wrapping up our FILM STUDY. The students had the opportunity to view both MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON and TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD. We looked at several scenes prior to viewing the film and analyzed the actor's choices, credits, opening scene, etc. The students also studied scenes and talked about how do directors choose to interpret and show a scene...what do they zoom in on, what do they make a wide shot, etc... We read a couple chapters of the text and were able to make some comparisons/contrasts between the film and the novel too.
Happy Spring Break!
Enjoy the time off...see you in April!
Mrs. Bickley :-)
